We would love you to be involved

If you want to become a member, please see the link to the membership application below.  To be kept up-to-date on SHRNF activities and local developments, to get directly involved, or if you have ideas about how to improve our Neighbourhood, please let us know by filling in the form below and you'll be added to the mailing list.

Getting involved

Public meetings are currently held online and will be advertised on the 'Events' page at least two weeks in advance.
Annual General Meetings are held to report on the previous year's activities and elect members to the SHRNF Committee for the following year.
Working groups
The SHRNF Committee has established working groups on the following areas:
  • natural environment
  • planning and conservation
  • infrastructure
  • liaison/communications with local/community groups
Please let us know, using the form above, if you would like to join any of these groups or if you wish to volunteer in any capacity - we would be very grateful for any assistance/support local volunteers can offer!

Becoming a Member

SHRNF is keen to represent as many as possible of those who are eligible and wish to become members of the Forum, so we would ask you to complete this online form to have a greater say in what's happening in your area:

There is no membership fee to pay to become a member.

According to the SHRNF Constitution (see About Us), the following are entitled to become members: people living, working, or volunteering ("for properly constituted groups") within the designated SHRNF Area; appointed representatives of community and not-for-profit organisations "whose aims are consistent with the purpose and objectives of the Forum"; "elected representatives from each local authority ward, the whole or part of which
falls within the Area, as ex officio members”.

Please note that only members of the Forum may vote at the Forum’s General Meetings and serve as officers and Committee members.

But membership is not necessary to be on our mailing list, to attend our public meetings, or to contribute to SHRNF's working groups, consultations, and surveys.
Voting for the Forum’s Committee for 2021/22 took place at the 2021-22 Annual General Meeting on 1 June 2021.

The current members of the Forum’s Committee and Officers can be found through the following link:

The structure, role and duty of the Committee and Officers is described in Section 7 of the Constitution, which can be found on the following link:
